My favorite piece of art!  My grandson Gavin.  A little different kind of gem but a gem nonetheless.  I have neglected the blog for quite some time now but have been busy putting together some new designs.  In the meantime, I decided to share this photo of my favorite little man!  He is seriously sweet.  Check back soon for more jewels.

Viking Knit and Polymer Clay Beaded Bracelet

Tried my hand at the viking knit technique and have to admit it was addicting!  I used 24 gauge fine silver wire for the knit portion of the bracelet and added a piece of 16 gauge sterling silver through the center for support.  The clay beads were from a set I made a while back and thought they needed a special piece to be used as a focal.

I will be adding more new pieces to my blog this weekend.  I look forward to comments so please tell me what you think.  Thanks for stopping by!   ~ D ~

Silver Fusing Project

This is my latest project with fusing fine silver. I plan on playing around with this technique a little more...lot's of fun and interesting how you can easily manipulate the silver after it is fused. I made the links (large and connectors) with 16 guage fine silver wire. Lot's of hammering of the links which was a little rough on my finger tips but the bracelet turned out nice! The only part of the bracelet that was pre-manufactured was the clasp, the rest was made using the fusing technique. Fun project, loved it!

Getting started.

With the cost of sterling at it's all time high I need to be conservative with my supplies. This is one of my first attempts at making a bracelet with swirled links. It was a lot of fun to make and has received many compliments by my critic friends! I am working on putting together some jewelry and card collections for the holidays so check out my blog to see what is added. If you would like instructions to any of my projects posted, I would be happy to forward to you!
Enjoy the day ~
